Disney Online and Nickelodeon were good enough to allow me to dream up more than a few online games over the years.
I was responsible for game concepts, narrative, animation, game mechanics and brand stewardship for some high profile properties. Caldecott winner (for the Adventures of Beekle) Dan Santat, (also creator of The Replacements) even gave me kudos for the title screen of Jetpack Jeopardy. Thanks, Dan!

The Replacements / Daring Detour
In partnership with Dr. Roger Vilardaga of Duke University’s Center for Addiction Science and Technology Department, we planned, designed and built a revolutionary smoking cessation app for one of the most underserved segments of our population – people with serious mental illness who are addicted to nicotine.

Derek Munson, author of Enemy Pie, asked me to design some characters and environments for his alien trading card & digital multiplayer game.
I loved the game idea and the character descriptions and happily joined the effort along with two other designers. Toa, Ursa Major, Coach Slogg and more take the field in fantastic baseball stadiums throughout the universe.
This mobile game was the second we developed with Random House Digital.
The original idea was a game in which players would drag their fingers to reroute flowing lava oozing from the ever-erupting volcano. After prototyping and testing multiple core mechanics, the game eventually became Catch the Berry (not pictured here) - a physics-based mechanic in which players carefully guide recently-come-to-life berries safely into the hands of the game's hero, Grok. NBA star Dwyane Wade loves his kids and wanted to make a game they'd love. I happen to be a fan of basketball, mobile games and Dwyane Wade, so when Dwyane's agents asked us to dream up a game - It was game on!
One of the first things I needed to do was create a cartoon version of his very well known face. Dwyane and his agent were very happy with likeness. The game includes his dog and some of his favorite foods as well as product placement for Dwyane's Li-Ning sports apparel (Second only to Nike in China).
I designed this mural to reflect the personality of our agency.
It's meant to tell the story of the journey we and the experiences we design take as the make their way from Fantasy to Reality.
